Bloopers

Well, we all know that 'kids say the darndest things'... I thought that it would be fun to have a page on the site where we can share funny moments that we have with our kids.  Please feel free to e-mail me (handyhousemom@gmail.com) and share a story with us (make someone smile)... periodically, I will feature stories that are shared.  I CAN'T WAIT to read these stories!!!

What Do You Mean 'Good Girl?'
It was Christmas time and I thought it would be a great idea to have one of my male co-workers call my house and pretend to be Santa Claus and call our house (I didn't have the number to the real Santa Claus).  I knew when he was going to be calling and made sure to have my little girl answer the phone (as I video taped... yes... there was a VHS in the camera that I was recording on.  It's been a while).  She answered and her face lit up when she realized that it was Santa!  'Santa' asked her the usual question, "Have you been a good girl this year?"  Her eyes got VERY big and she paused and quickly HUNG UP THE PHONE!  She explained what Santa had asked her and that she knew she hadn't been good all year.  Luckily my co-worker called back and got to finish the conversation with her!

OK... story #1...

Lost in translation

My little girl has recently started really enjoying playing pretend.  She likes to pretend she's an animal.  She'll crawl around and bark like a dog and exclaim, "I a doggie!"  Well, the other day in the car, she said, "Mommy, I a catfish!"  Surprised, I asked, "A catfish?!"  She grinned and looked at me (in the rear view mirror) and said, "Yup! MEEEEEOOOOOW!"  Clearly, she has NO idea what a catfish is!  HA!
