Makin' Kitchen Knobs and Pulls Purty!!

Ok... so, if you're like me, there's always something in your house that you'd like to change.  It may be something small or may be something huge... or both. :-)  If you're even more like me, you do NOT have a money tree growing in your backyard... that would be SO NICE!  Ok... back on task... I have generated a list of things that I would like to change in my home.  I didn't set a timeline, just a list.  And when I can tackle things on the list, I will. One of the things on my list was to replace the knobs and pulls in our kitchen.  Since they are STRAIGHT out of the 90s, with they're shiny gold handles... BLECH!  They drive me NUTS!

So, I unscrewed them and took off for a home improvement store to start pricing them. Yeah well... I was OUT OF LUCK!  Apparently, the screw holes in my pulls are 2" apart AND...just...my...luck... they no longer make them 2" apart.  ANYWHERE.  I looked on line.  I looked in other stores.  I was getting NOWHERE.  Not to mention, that even if I did find them, they were going to cost around $50 to replace them all in my kitchen.  :-(

Well, when a good idea strikes, I'll take it.  I was surfing Pinterest (if you aren't on that site... CHECK IT OUT...AWESOME!!!), and saw an idea for fixing door knobs (which I also did... I'll post those pics next week). I decided to try the same idea on my awful kitchen knobs and pulls.  It couldn't get much worse, could it?!

I bought a can of Rust-oleum oil rubbed bronze spray paint (around $7.50), and sprayed them... let them dry COMPLETELY and rehung them. I cannot explain the drastic difference!
